Brigada Skwela at General Santos City

The Department of Education (DepED) together with other stakeholders like LGU's, private sector, and our dear parents started the National Schools Maintenance Week (NSMW) or Brigada Eskwela, as we prepare for the opening of 2012-2013 school year this June 4.

DepED Secretary Bro. Armin Luistro expressed optimism that opening of classes will proceed smoothly due to the active participation of schools and communities in Brigada Eskwela. In addition, he emphasized that disturbances or interruptions will not be allowed this opening of classes.

All Public Elementary and High Schools in General Santos City are very eager in conducting the Brigada Eskwela  2012 participated by Teachers, PTA Officials, Local Government Officials and Employees, Private Individuals and Groups, Students and Dear Parents. The people of General Santos or what we called "Generals" are helping hand in hand for the success of this Brigada Skwela.

Making Waves.... Digital Caricature in GenSan

GENERAL SANTOS CITY– As part of the Summer 2012 Multimedia Boot Camp, the training on digital caricature making started on April 10, 2012, gaining more attention, but scheduled to end on the last week of May 2012. It produced around 100 participants who are now ready to electronically sketch a photo from a digital jpg file.

The successful graduates will receive their certificate of completion from the chief executive, Hon. Darlene Magnolia R. Antonino-Custodio, on May 29, 2012 tentatively. This may be synchronized with the culmination of Business English Proficiency for Call Center. (article from SHEEP - CLP GenSan)

Here is a caricature of Hon. Margareth Rose N. Santos, City Councilor/Education Committee Chairperson:

This is a work of art by Bernard Navidad with Facebook alias "Alex Pilapil" who is one of the proponents of the S.H.E.E.P. - Literacy Program.

Another thumbs up for SHEEP - CLP Staff and the Honorable Darlene Magnolia R. Antonino - Custodio, City Mayor.
